I AGREE WITH ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING YOU HAVE SAID INCLUDING THE COMPARISON TO THE CARLA STORYLINE. It's just starting to feel sadistic really.
I have stopped watching it out of spite at the moment because ffs has everyone conveniently forgotten Tommy and Tina accused Kirsty of abuse IN PUBLIC IN FRONT OF EVERYONE, and Fiz saying 'tell them what she does to you' at the wedding. Why is everyone on Coronation street so selectively stupid when the plot calls for it. It's not great writing.
Also I don't trust them not to go down the 'domestic violence is totally worse for men than women' angle to be honest and I am quite sensitive about that because IT'S AWFUL FOR WHOEVER EXPERIENCES IT HONESTLY IT ISN'T ACTUALLY A COMPETITION. I am also pretty sensitive about false abuse claims because yes, some abusers WILL claim that they are the ones being abused instead, but with the whole attitude society has about women making false claims I don't trust it to be handled properly.
And I didn't like the whole Fiz/Tyrone affair storyline because it kind of cluttered things up and felt pretty unnecessary. Also I'm just saying he could probably do with some emotional space to recover from the whole awful relationship before he jumps straight into a new one, idk.
