I haven't been watching it like I say, but oh my God last night. "How can I turn it down? It's a really good deal!". Unless I have missed a lot and he is now broke and his family are about to be kicked out on the streets, what? Maybe it's because Nathan and Natasha left, so they need some ruthless rich people around, and they've decided characterisation doesn't matter. Or, maybe he's just so depressed about Nathan leaving he's just gone evil. Maybe that.
I did kind of love the episode between Cain and Charity, violence aside, just from Charity's perspective and as a honest look at an unhealthy relationship. But aside from that, yeah. Again, I haven't been watching it so I don't know, but as far as I can tell this storyline with Amy doesn't even make any sense.
I do think visions and swords would make Coronation Street better. But I kind of like it as it is as well. Or some bits of it anyway. The bits with Becky, David, and sometimes Maria. People have been awful to Becky lately though, and it's been really hard to watch, and kind of hard to understand, just in terms of character. I don't know. I just feel like the writing on Emmerdale is nothing like what it was when I was watching it before. Which is probably to do with Gavin Blythe dying I guess, but still. And Coronation Street doesn't seem quite as good as it used to be either.
Kelly...well. I don't know. I didn't use to like her, she was basically like she was now before, if not worse. But then she and Jimmy got properly together, and really loved each other. And they were talking about starting a family, because he always wanted one, and he was supposed to be trying for one with his previous wife, but she'd been taking the pill behind his back. Kelly wasn't sure because she wanted to be a model, but she was getting older and her career hadn't taken off, so she genuinely properly agreed to start trying for a baby with Jimmy. But then she got an offer for a really good job, around the same time as she found out she was pregnant. And it was awful, because it was what she really wanted, but she sort of wanted the baby as well, and she'd promised Jimmy. So with some support from a younger Scarlet she had an abortion behind Jimmy's back. But then the job fell apart in a really horrible way, and she couldn't keep it to herself about the abortion and Debbie found out and blackmailed her, and then she ended up talking to Debbie's cousin who found out about it, and Jimmy thought she and he were having an affair. And then it all came out on her wedding day, and Jimmy just said she couldn't be with him anymore. And it was really awful and I really did like her at that point. And then she was coming back and I thought, oh, that'll be awkward and interesting maybe. But now she's doing this and I just don't even know, I don't know if she and Jimmy getting together is on the cards, or if they'll try to turn it around and say she really is in love with Jimmy, apparently. And I just hate her. I don't know. I want her to go away too, and for Nicola to be happy again, and I even liked her once. Oh, you know just before Nathan left I got to really like him and Nicola, the way they were together. If he was still around, I like to think he would be incensed and devious and protective over what's happening with Jimmy and Kelly. Just because she's his acquaintance/employee/possible friend. It's a nice thought. I'm having to imagine a lot of soaps as though they were better a lot of the time at the moment.
