girlofprey: (Lost Kate Cry In The Arms of Sympathetic)

So. I've had a pretty rubbish day. I slept through my alarm (sort of) and was late for work, although no-one said anything. I got yelled at by the owner of the company. Someone called and asked to speak to him, and he was down as '[something] manager' on my sheet, so I put the call through and said "It's so-and-so for you", and he went quiet for ages and I thought there might be something wrong with the line, so I said "hello?" - that's all I can think that I did - and he said there was a sales manager behind me who could take the call. When I put the phone down from doing that, the guy was stood at my desk, and he said "Hi, I'm Vince, I own the company, have you just started today?", and I said "Hi, yes, yesterday" - thinking he was being friendly. And he said "Well, I expect you to be a bit smarter, a bit better on the phone than that -" and clapped his hands really loudly " - and if you ever speak to me like you just did then again, I'll send you away". And walked off. It was pretty horrible.

People came up to me afterwards though and asked if I was alright, and said he was always like that with everyone, and to 'let it go' and carry on. One woman made the twirling finger/"crazy" gesture about him, which was nice. I somewhat agree with her. So I tried not to take it too personally. Still.

I got the bus home at 1 o'clock, and got one that went the long way around accidentally. On the way round, someone threw an apple at the bus, which partly came in through an open window, so I got apple on my trousers. When I got into town, a guy stopped me on the street and said he was a builder who'd hurt his hand on site and wanted some money for bus fare to the hospital, and he did have red something on his hand, so I gave him £2 just in case he did need it, and to get rid of him, partly. He was very angry about 'nobody helping him' when he first came up to me. The more I think about it the less his story made sense, really, but whatever, it's done. And then I went to the bank to see how much money I have, particularly since I've just paid the rent, and it turns out that however bad I am with money when I'm not working, I'm even worse when I am. Or maybe I just need to remember that before anything else, I do have a £400 overdraft to pay off, really. Or buying sandwiches for lunch every day is not the way to go about saving up money. So. I'm hoping this current stint of working does continue, actually, since I'm in need of it again. But I have a feeling the day I need off next week and the two days I need off for Newcastle in a few weeks' time is going to make that a bit harder. ::sigh::

I'm going to go watch Emmerdale and cook a pizza and watch about 5 episodes of Ask A Ninja now. Hm.
