girlofprey: (Unicorns Vs Werewolves)
Borderlands 3 is tomorrow. TOMORROW. I mean, it's not exactly tomorrow, I will almost certainly have no time to play it after getting it back home and getting it installed. But! Tomorrow.

If they kill my baby Maya, I will - I won't even make a threat of violence in joke, but I will be upset.

I'm not, indeed, going to finish Tales from the Borderlands before tomorrow. Given how late I'll get back tomorrow night, I probably won't even get it finished before Friday. Which gives me the interesting dilemma of putting off Borderlands 3 for any amount of time to finish it first, or dropping it. I get the gist I think. I'm honestly kind of not enjoying it - maybe because I'm trying to rush through it, and because Telltale games are...interesting, a particular brand of game that maybe I don't enjoy, and also some of their options don't really give you a good idea of what you're picking, and then to go back and change them you have to sit through the whole thing again and unskippable cutscenes? But also maybe because I've always found Borderlands more effective when it was being brutal than when it was being heartwarming. And being able to choose what you do in the plot instead of just being taken for a ride...I mean, I'm choosing a lot of the heartwarming options, but the fact I get to choose at all just feels so weird. Not very Borderlands-ish. In some ways it makes me worried for what the writing will be like in Borderlands 3, whether it'll be more mushy - and I don't mind sentiment, frequently love it, but Borderlands never really goes full or interestingly into that stuff either, so you just sort of don't get the best of both worlds. But their main entries have never let me down so far, so I will hold out faith. Most of the reviews just say it's more Borderlands, so hopefully the tone will be similar too. But anyway. Tales from the Borderlands. Handsome Jack! <3 I want to know full details of his return, especially if it's now canon and might come up in Borderlands 3, but I don't know if I can put off playing Borderlands 3 for it. And make decisions I almost don't care about given the alternative. But I probably will have to. For plot.

Borderlands 3!

Yesterday I had another run-in with the guy I work with who I argued with the other day, where I asked him to do something when he covers reception and he 1) didn't seem to understand what I was describing, and wouldn't listen to me while I told him he didn't understand, and 2) ended up ranting about how it was easy enough for me to fix if he didn't do that, and it was just a lot of fuss about nothing, I was just fussing about nothing, and then walked away without saying another word to me. So that was fun. I have to work with him. He's kind of my boss now that my manager's away from the office more often.
