Sep. 4th, 2018 10:31 amI wish all the new fantasy novels starring women weren't also heterosexual romances. Like - there are more interesting situations for women to be in than falling in love with a man. There are certainly more of a variety of situations for women to be in.
I wish all the new TV shows weren't about "what if this man was accused of abusing/murdering a woman, but didn't do it, despite all the evidence against him??? What if??". It's never the other way around, is it? You rarely see shows about women accused of murdering their husbands who have to prove it was self-defence, which is a thing. Anyway. Misogyny.
My sister has got another dog. That's not a joke. Apparently this one came from her new boyfriend's daughter's house, where they already have four and more puppies on the way, or something awful. The stories I could tell you about my sister and her new boyfriend are wild. Ferrets. Hawks. Budgies. You don't even know. But anyway, yes. She hasn't taken her own dog back from us, she's gotten a new one. Apparently she's still planning to take our dog when mum and dad go on their own holiday in a few weeks - because as far as I know mum's still planning to pay her - but we'll have to see if that throws a spanner in the works, I guess. Mum says the new dog has at least grown up around other dogs, so there's that. Another woman told her it's breed, or part of it, was raised for hunting, and might savage another dog. So we'll see!
I wish there was speed-dating to make new friends. That's a thing I've been thinking for a while. It would be nice to have more people I know in the area, and I'm not super good at making friends, and I don't really go out socially (I would be going out alone at this point), and none of my work colleagues - are people I would want to spend a lot of time with out of work. I think it would make sense, where a lot of people who make to make new friends locally can get together, spend 1 minute 30 seconds with each other to see if you hit it off, and trade numbers at the end if you do, and see where it goes from there. I should see if people actually do that, I guess.
I wish my mouse wasn't so sensitive every tiny movement was registered, so it's really hard to double-click things without the computer counting it as two separate clicks, in TWO SEPARATE PLACES! I wish a lot of things.
