Oct. 30th, 2017 02:04 pmI'm trying to watch the new Playstation announcement at Paris Games Week, but between the different time zones, daylight savings time, and the fact they told everyone to tune in an hour early for the pre-stream livechat which would have a bunch of other announcements, I have no idea what I'm doing. At the moment, the stream just has a loop of French music and the Playstation advert noise, so I'm guessing that's not it. So I will leave...and it will probably have a livestream in my absence. And I will be annoyed.
It turned out to be good timing for me to have a day off now though, because my nephew's dad is a shithead - since he moved out of my sister's house, it's always been a thing that he had the kids on a Sunday, as well as one of them at various times through the week, so my sister got a day off and they got to see him/he got to see them, etc. Last week, he called my parents after about two hours of having the kids - or maybe one, I'm not sure - to say that they were little bastards, and they were doing his head in, he was never having them again, could my parents come and get them. And since my sister, who is also a shithead, still wanted a day off, my parents ended up looking after all three of them all day. This week, we weren't sure what was happening, but apparently the kids' dad emailed my sister to say he was sick. Me and my parents go out once a month to have Sunday lunch at a carvery across the road, and this was one of those weeks, so my mum asked my sister if he couldn't have them, or just one or two of them, for one hour while we went and did that. My sister texted him, and he apparently didn't reply. So instead my mum started wracking her brains for things we could do with them for a few hours on a Sunday, to keep them occupied, so instead of a nice quiet day and lunch out at a pub, we all went out to a local farm shop for the pumpkin-picking and Halloween event they were having. It was nice, but it was cold, and we had to wrangle the kids and try to keep them in line more than once. Not exactly very restful.
But now I have ice-cream, and Div, and Playstation announcements at some point, maybe very soon. And that is nice.
