Dec. 24th, 2010 11:30 pmLast minute Christmas icons. You know it makes sense.
It is Christmas Eve. Happily, I somehow managed to finish all of my Christmas shopping yesterday, although some of my presents are sort of cop-out basic ones, but I don't care, I quite like them all. I haven't wrapped any of them yet, because as usual mum and I have both left the wrapping until Christmas Eve, and as far as I know we don't have enough scissors and tape to go around. However, slightly more pressingly, I haven't actually decorated my bedroom for Christmas yet, so I think I might try to get on with that now. Today was mostly spent by me asleep, and then looking after my oldest nephew for the evening, decorating buns, drawing Christmas pictures while my dad made a robot model, and partaking in the usual festive tradition of delivering my mum's cards, including one to a house we can almost never find. It turns out, we have realised this year, that's mostly because to find it you have to get into a little set of streets, then turn off the main road of the area onto a road that does not have any street names on it, then immediately turn off onto a road that has a street name on it that is not the street we're looking, but halfway down or somewhere in the middle turns into the street we are looking for. It took us quite a long time to find it, again. But this time my nephew got the joy of the experience as well. Ah, the festive season.
