Aaand, suddenly I have nothing to say.

We went out for the meal. I wore a skirt and pondered the irony of the only dessert left when Mick came to pick his being "Toffee Addiction". The food was not as good as I remember from when I was younger, and that was disappointing in more ways than one. But we have survived my sister's birthday. Hurrah! She still has birthday money to spend! But other than that it's done!

So I can move on to looking forward to this weekend when, a) the Brick DVD should get here, and I can pore over deleted scenes, b) the Connotations poll should be finished so we know what panels are on offer (I'm still rooting for the AUs one myself), and c) Talladega Nights will be released. It seems wrong to be so looking forward to a Will Ferrell comedy, but I am because it is about racecar drivers and assorted speedfreaks; it features Sacha Baron Cohen in a Rather Fetching green and black leather jacket; and I'm pretty sure there's going to be boykissing. So. I count down the days.

Today at work was horrendous. I'm pretty sure I'm coming on soon. People kept giving me work, and I just wanted to stab them. Constantly. Even though I was doing nothing. Nothing but checking my email and, um, reading a certain person's old LJ entries, haha. At first I was actually reading them properly, but eventually it just became an obsession with finding the first comment I ever made. Thinking 'seventeen years, and where was the sister?' 'Surely I knew them by now? DEFINITELY now! Oh, come on!'. Weeping at my own LJ incompetence.

Now I'm just going through old film magazines in an attempt to get rid of them, and finding a treasure trove of old (like, six months or more!) beautiful pictures. Slowly my dream bedroom emerges. Inch by tortured inch. And I'm thinking about Emmerdale. Yay.

Other things:

  • I got the Beatrice Letters in Waterstones, since the bookshops do seem to be the internets in this one thing for speed. Even read a bit of it and got a nice crease in the inside, before coming home and finding my order from Play.com was being packaged, and couldn't be cancelled. Sigh. Back they go.

  • The cake I made? Half was put into the fridge when people could eat no more, where it has gone rock hard, but apparently partly LIQUIFIED first, and is now like proper chocolate cake smothered in chocolate fudge, only hard and big so you have to eat it in chunks. I may have to rethink the 'not cooking one again any time soon' deal.

  • I like shoes with heels that click. Yes I do.

  • I am looking forward to Connotations.
