Wow. Lots appears to be happening while also being very little. Hmm.
Really, really tired, after various hideous family dramas last night. You know I'd write about it, but I already have to deal with them in real life and talk about them with all my friends out here. I don't want them getting my Livejournal too. 'Tis a place for fandom and yay. So I'll just settle for random obscure comments and say I'm really, really tired.
But I'm posting now because dad got the Router yesterday - for which I might not have to pay anything at all apparently, since my sister had some professional pictures bought for her by mum (hurray for family 'fairness') - and he's been trying all day to get it set up, without much success. So I don't know when I'll next get the chance - it's difficult to persuade someone struggling to install software that will improve your life and not theirs to just step aside for a few seconds and let you indulge in fandom. So; Stealth Rachael ::is stealthy::
Got a letter from the Park Hotel today, confirming my booking for
connotations! It is on lovely yellow paper with gold-y writing. I am treasuring it next to my postcard from
jekesta. It suddenly occured to me while reading it that I have been quite civilly and reasonably conversing with a fairly posh hotel about booking a room for a gay porn convention. Hurray for life in the fandom lane >:)
Ooh, saw Doctor Who. Sort of. In betweenjuggling jiggling a baby so he wouldn't cry, and not being able to hear it because I put the baby down and he cried. But yay. ( Spoilers )
Went to see Batman Begins yesterday too. Tried to cajole mum, but she didn't want to leave Katie on her own, so went with my silent, credit-card owning dad. Yay. And I really enjoyed it - it's not going on my list of Most Favourite Films ever, but it's still a damn good film, and an enjoyable film, and a really good Batman film too. Completely does away with all the past film mythology, makes all shiny and clean and new. And I actually liked the hero, which is odd and rare for me. I like him as Bruce Wayne, I liked him as Batman, I liked him as the man trying to figure himself out in between those two things. The first half-hour was painted in slightly broad strokes - my dad and I are both of the opinion that Bruce's father was clearly too good to live, and had to die to go be with his heavenly father - and grated a bit, but after that it was plain sailing.
But omg, teh slash
( Spoilers! )
My sister knows I have a livejournal now. I may be forced to Friends Only. Dammit. Ah well. I go sleep now. Ta ta.
