It was quite good. It had Rik Mayall as Alan B'stard, former young conservative politician, then secret creator and essential ruler of New Labour. IT WAS A BIT SEXY. I may need to watch the show now. Along with all the others recommended in the programme. He had a socialist slave, Frank - was he in the original show? - and a fabulous wife, Arabella. And 'Condoleeza' kept storming in in short skirts to threaten him and invade Norway. Quite great, really. And a fabulous set, complete with secret sliding panels. I wasn't prepared for how old Rik actually looks now, but it was still lovely to actually see him on stage. I was practically front row centre, through some stroke of luck. And there was a bit where Rik/Alan threw a bit of paper at Frank's head but it missed and went into the audience, and Rik sent him to ask for it back, and then they couldn't stop laughing, and it was a bit like an outtake, but in REAL LIFE! And then there was a guy somewhere near the back who kept laughing really strangely and loudly, very often completely on his own, at any mention of sex I think, and at one point Rik just told him to "Shut up and fuck off". It was great. A bit evil, and they suggested that those 15 marines had tried to join the Iranian Navy, but then again it had Tony Blair in a box with one ear cut off. And they made jokes about the BBC comedy department. So it was generally a winning night out :)
Back to work tomorrow. Boo.
