Why do you have to keep bringing that up? I think it's really BEST FORGOTTEN DUDE.
You know I mostly wrote it to show how terribly Mac and Caroline cope without Guy. A romantic holiday away, in a castle by the sea - and she was ready to kill him by the end of it. All those little mind games, comments, that she couldn't quite keep up with - and with no-one else to have slightly more direct and resolvable confrontations with. And he was just bored, no-one around to fight with, not even Caroline since they were 'doing well' now. If she hadn't gotten annoyed with herself he'd probably have pushed her off a pier, 'for a laugh'. It was with GREAT RELUCTANCE I ended it with him doing with of those suprise romantic gestures he always does, and her accepting it like she always does. Canonical evidence weighed me down. How was I to know it would really appeal to the Caromaccers? ::headdesk::
Note the distance she leaves between them when they're driving back on Mac's bike, dude. I'd have had a coda where they get back to Guy and find themselves suddenly really refreshed, if I didn't think I'd be lynched for it.
