Live with someone else, that's my motto. Don't live alone, unless you can skank on someone else's floor every night. If they are beastly you can just ignore them. Although not if they are very intrusive, I suppose. Get a mumsy sort who will stay at home all day and look after the cats. Or, omg, room with a GIANT SENTIENT CAT who can walk upright and open cupboards and nuture your kittens and go out and earn rent at night by doing... whatever it is that giant sentient cats get paid to do at night in Notts!
