Snakes on a Plane! Trees in a Garden!

I saw Snakes On A Plane with dad. It was, um, a bit gay. Gayer than I was expecting. And not just because there was a camp air - host. I was not expecting the witness to be quite so pretty. He was a surfer, and Sam Jackson basically implied he went to Bali, a place generally frequented by surfers, not to surf but to lay on the beach and "watch the beauties", while staring directly at surfer witness boy, and smiling quite widely. Dude. But there were decent female characters too, and some of the twattish characters got to survive, and even save the day occasionally, which was swish. Also someone kick-boxed a snake. That was awesome. I'm not convinced it was an entirely realistic portrayal of how snakes actually act, and it happily ignored the fact that they're actually quite easy to kill if you stamp on their necks. Also, no-one tucked their trousers into their shoes and rolled their sleeves down, which is pretty much the FIRST thing I would do. But ah well. Don't get me wrong, it was terrible, and there was the usual, bewildering flood of sex jokes, but there were snakes, on a plane. And it was rather amusing, and ended on random shirtlessness, so my expectations were pretty much fulfilled. Hurrah.
We have a huge pile of bricks on our lawn. And a slightly moat-like trench around the inside of our garden wall. It's been a bit destroyed by the roots of our massive tree (we don't tell my parents I'm slightly impressed by this), so we're replacing it, but it mostly looks like a bomb site at the moment. And still the tree abides. Well done it.
