Today was not brilliant

So. I managed to apply for two jobs last night, mostly through realising there was the same person specification for two that were basically the same role. I filled in my Jobseeker's diary. I dug out my ISA details. I was ready to go to my Jobseeker's appointment today - except that the 'getting up' part didn't really happen. Partly because I was putting off filling in my Jobseeker's diary most of the night, for some reason, and watching A Very Potter Musical. I went to bed about an hour before I was planning to get up, basically just for a nap, but then I either didn't hear the alarm or didn't get up if I did hear it, and ended up sleeping through my appointment.

I got up at half 12-ish and called to say I'd missed the appointment and get another one for later in the day, as had happened before, and went into town, had lunch, went to get some money out of my ISA - which the bank people kindly let me do even though I didn't have all the details I needed - and went and put it into my normal account. Then I went back to the flat and put the snooker on, as I'd been told Debbie Dingle from Emmerdale was playing - it turned out not to be Debbie Dingle, but was a bit great all the same. Some fellow named John Higgins. He had been losing but then just started to win. Well. There were angles. That's all I can say. Angles and brilliance.

Anyway, I left before the match (game?) was finished to go to my Jobseeker's appointment, and stopped in to buy an Evening Post with all the jobs in on the way. I went to the office, used the jobpoint things to look for jobs until I was called, explained why I'd been late this morning, signed on, everything was fine. Then I asked about a letter I'd received saying I wasn't eligible for contribution-based Jobseeker's Allowance anymore - which I had been told in July-ish by a housing benefit person I was speaking to probably just meant I'd have to be on income-based Jobseeker's Allowance instead. The letter didn't say anything about getting onto income-based Jobseeker's Allowance, just what to do if I disagreed with the decision, so I was waiting to ask at my next appointment about it. Only to be told that no, they don't do anything to put you on a new kind of Jobseeker's Allowance, you have to get some form even though the letter doesn't say anything about doing that, and I wouldn't be getting any benefit this week, and they can't say if I'll get any money back-dated until I do this form. Which I couldn't even get today because I'd gone so late, so the department I needed to go to would be closed. So that's - great. You know. As in not great.

It wouldn't be so bad, but I was running around trying to get to this appointment today, and trying to get to the late appointment so everything would be sorted and I could get some money this week. And now I can't anyway. And yeah, I should have called someone about the letter, but everyone I asked seemed to think it would be fine, and it didn't actually say what to do about sorting it out on the letter. So now I've got to try to sort this out, if I even can, and it's just - horrible. I'm swinging between being angry at the benefits office/department whatever for not making it clearer, and being angry at myself for not being more organised generally lately. But anyway. Yes. Considering that I did a few actually useful things today, it wasn't actually a brilliant day, all in all.

Growl.

Oh god I'm sorry, benefits workings outs are so horrible and impossible when you're depressed anyway and yes. I think you're quite great to get to the jobseekers' place at all, and it's horrible of them to just be so unhelpful.

::hugs you a lot::

I like that you watched the AMAZING SNOOKER and loved it. John Higgins is CHAMPION OF THE WORLD, because of his AMAZING SNOOKER. Tomorrow Hendry is playing Williams at 1.30. If we're totally honest the quality of snooker will be smaller, but the ABSOLUTE PURE GAY LOVE will be higher, and also HENDRY! Williams! Brilliant! You should watch.

::hugs back:: I don't even have words anymore. A little bit of direction about how to deal with your benefits or even what options were available would have been nice, but they didn't do it, and that's that. I assume they don't really want to help people keep getting benefits from the government. Hmph. I'm having a second can of Sprite because there's no chocolate in the house.

Higgins. He - he made the shots and made the ball be exactly where it needed to be. I like that he was losing and they were all saying he would probably lose but then he just seemed to think "No, actually. I think I might win instead". HE'S QUITE GREAT. I might watch the match tomorrow. I can never be sure when I'll be out of bed nowadays, but I do need to go into town at some point and get that form. So I may as well watch gay snooker love. Do the players kiss as they pass each other leaving or going to the table? They never show you much beside the table between the shots, but I imagine they do.

I KNOW. IT IS AMAZING, ISN'T IT????? You can't rely on it with John Higgins, it only happens when he remembers to Be John Higgins, which he often forgets. Don't get too attached to John HIggins's ability to play snooker, I did that and then realised that it is a FAILING WEAK THING that is not sturdy.

Do the players kiss as they pass each other

No no no, Williams and Hendry love each other FAR MORE THAN THAT. They love each other so much that sometimes just sometimes occasionally if everything is going really really badly they just about sometimes maybe once make eye contact. It's that sort of love. Except occasionally, when they are brilliant and laugh and smile with glowing love. Hendry beat Williams in the world championship in April and Williams hasn't entirely forgiven him, so things are already quite tense. I love them. I love them so much.

I forgot to have tea so I am eating digestives. It's not really filling my nutritional requirements I think.
