Visit from parents did not happen due to Jack being ill - not seriously, but enough that they want to stick around and help Katie out. Hence I am back spending my free time on the internet as usual. Going to a comedy thing later with flatmates and some of J's friends, and given that it is Sunday I'm not sure what to do between now and then. Aside from Burger King, yo.
Watched Sea of Souls ep three last night. As predicted, there was a Sad Lack of Craig. But he was still eee! when he was there. 'Now that's what I call Craig' - he's such a beautiful, beautiful geek! And he fixes iPods, or whatever the hell that was! And a return of the crazy shirts! ::love:: I like the was he was all 'breakfast?' too. They're such a great team. But if the show people are in fact trying to get him together with Justine, I will be upset. I have up to now been taking all such comments on the show to be mere contrast/misunderstanding about their real, 'sibling-like' relationship that the show creators talk about in interviews - but it's been going on for a while now, and I'm starting to get angrily suspicious...
Anyway, besides SLoC, I thought it was quite a good episode. I love the way the show has gone from 'oooh, was it spooky, or is there a rational explanation?' to 'Moths in the bathroom! Fire extinguisher through the unbroken glass! Woo woo woo!'. All the reactions and acting was quite good, although Justine's 'a dark desire' line made me giggle. I still don't understand why the horrible guy was dressed like a prison guard though. Or why he beat up Stuart/went for Monaghon. Or exactly why Stuart gave Chloe his mother's necklace. And for some reason I found the explanation a bit of an anticlimax. But it was still good, and I thought the red squares were a nice, clever touch. I hated Chloe, and the other friend by the end of it too, but there was clearly a bit of OT3-ness going on there. Which was nice. Anyway. Very atmospheric. Very green. Very nice. 4 stars for the episode - 1 star for Craigness.
And, because everyone else is doing it:
I just realised I can probably buy Adrian Mole books at WH Smith, and still have a £15 gift card left over from Christmas. Duh! ::smacks self:: I also have a sudden striking desire to start watching Life on Mars. And slash John Simm (Raskolnikov! Eee!) and the blond-haired one, in gritty Seventies fashion. Probably I will.

And, because everyone else is doing it:
- It doesn't happen very often.
- It doesn't take very long.
- You've never heard of the fandom. Or at least, were not aware it was something that HAD a 'fandom'.
- You don't really understand why the pairing is together, and sometimes the pairing doesn't seem to either!
- There will be no sort of actual sex. Or kissing. Or actual thoughts leading to that end from any character. Explicitness is for the weak!
- Nothing, in fact, will happen much. Just lots of angsty thinking about various events, and pretty other characters.
- M/m slash, yo. Despite the fact of no. 5.
- Lots of run on descriptive sentences of thought, that may make you a bit lost. Equally, if things do happen, probably there will be lots of abrupt, short sentences, that may make things a bit stilted.
- If there is conversation, you get descriptions of everything. EVERYTHING, yo. Tone of voice. Direction of eyes. Change of tone of voice/direction of eyes. Pauses, measured to the nanosecond. You don't have to imagine it yourself! I do it for you! The curse of having a too-vivid visual imagination.
- The title is just one word, that may or may not seem to have been picked completely at random. It most often will not have, however, down to my insistence of particular pronunciations (Persephone...)

I do not like the new thing. Possibly I might have done at one stage. I think they were better for not doing that.
I LOVE CRAIG.
I have downloaded ep 2 I just need to watch it. Yes. I WILL DO THIS.
