The Weekend review

Hmm. Tired. Film festival thing went less well than I might have hoped - when I got to the front desk and said my name and that I would be on the guest list, they told there was no guest list - ! Then they asked me who I talked to to arrange it - I talked to the girl who runs our show, Uncovered, who talked to the press officer, who talked to whoever arranged it properly. But the cinema marketing manager gave me a couple of free tickets to some shows anyway, and her e-mail, asking me to send her whatever I did on the festival, which I think will be nothing now because it's finished and we like to cover things people can actually still go see. Sigh.

Also we had organised an interview with the festival president, which he was thankfully aware of - but when I rang up at the agreed time (10 o'clock-ish), he was in his hotel room! Which was just around the corner apparently. He asked me if I wanted to come to his hotel/room to do it - no - or for him to come back to the cinema - not for a 2 minute interview, no - so that was a big flop. We rescheduled it for the next day, but too late to put it in the show so I ended up cancelling. And then I woke up seriously ill with 'The Curse' (which has earned its name, let me tell you), so I couldn't even nip down to the studios to just do a 'I went to Resfest, and it was...' piece. Double sigh.

On the plus side, I appear to be completely free for next weekend though, for once. I am contemplating going home. I'd like to take my laptop back and do some stuff on the internet, but it might be awkward on a coach/train. Hmm. It might be nice to see the family/Jack though. And...have things bought for me rather than having to buy them.

Am still in a bit of a Goblet of Fire daze. To the point where I COULD NOT SLEEP until about 2 o'clock this morning because ideas and such were whizzing around my head. I'm sure I had lots and lots of thoughts at the time, and love for lots and lots of the characters/ships - seriously, thinking back on it it may be the shippiest/sexiest/slashiest film I have EVER SEEN! There was no scene without a pairing! - but mostly it's just a Barty Crouch fuzz. He was so crazy! And so hot! And yet still so intelligent and shrewd, enough to FOOL THEM ALL!! I still find something awfully madly sexy about the good, slightly odd, sensitive teacher on the outside, crazy, sly evil guy underneath thing. Yes. Sex with all his students. Yes.

Reading other peoples' reviews (a LOT of other people's reviews) I can see his character is quite different from what it was in the book, or at least had liberties taken with it. Which is slightly saddening, because I really want to read the book, partly to learn more about his character, and it's going to be - complicated. Hmm. But I'm still glad for the movie version because I am love on him. I'll be interested to see what fandom makes of him if they decide to take him on (someone's review predicted he would be 'fandom's new darling' - squee just at the very thought!). Hopefully there will be lots and lots of slash.

I'm still slightly in denial about his fate in the book. I want him to escape and have lots more crazy, leatherclad, Death Eater adventures! And hot Voldemort would have his most loyal (and hot) servant back - how cool would that be? Or possibly be imprisoned and do lots of sexy/slashy taunting of whoever was holding him. Preferably Snape. And, oh, he and Draco could have ferret issues! Sigh. If he had just gone back to Azkaban in the books, he could have been one of the ones who escaped in HBP. And that would have worked AND made me insanely happy. But I suppose that's what fanfiction's for.

I really can't wait for the GoF DVD. 3 DAYS after the opening weekend. I got it bad.

Also, I had a bit of an icon clearout. See the pretty shiny new ones! Some of them had uploading problems, and one inexplicably turned into Mischa Barton, but they seem to be mostly alright. Now.

Er... does that mean the GOF film has a hot, leather-clad David Tennant in? Because that might just be a really good reason for me to go see the film right the hell now. Provided I can stop thinking of hot, leather-clad David Tennant for long enough to actually move.

Oh, it does. It very does. And there's some weak-knee-making tongue movement that should really get you up and out. *swoon*

Whuh? What am I doing here? Where is my coat? Who's hidden the cinema? *is gone*
