I don't trust the Sheriff. I already didn't, because when you wake up in the helicopter, he's gone and Joseph's gone, and Joseph is 'mysteriously' out of his cuffs. Also, when you (later) wake up in Dutch's place, he tells you you can't trust anyone, which makes sense after Nancy, but still feels like it's setting you up for another betrayal (or two) later in the story.

They also said that all my 'friends' from the helicopter had been split up and sent to Joseph's various dudes. But they never really specified exactly which people in the helicopter that was, and I've just started on my second area in the game and I went to a place where I was told the Resistance were holed up, and the Sheriff was just there. Just hanging out. He was all "I don't really remember what happened after the crash, I think they gave me all the drugs, then these people found me wandering around high and brought me back and now I'm here". An interesting story. Also, I went to go talk to him at one point, and he said "We've all seen our share of murder-suicides". Which was a surprise. He was trying to say at the end that sometimes he was too late and he had to live with that, and I would too. But I think maybe this is going to be a reason why he ended up going to be with the cult. Also, they've made reference outside the game to Joseph Seed going through a bunch of care homes, and he's mentioned things that happened when his family 'got torn apart' - so I think it might also be foreshadowing for what happened when Joseph was a kid. Like his father killed his mother, and then he and his brothers just got torn apart and sent to different care homes, where no-one really cared. And maybe the Sheriff was involved too, and blamed himself for not stepping in with Joseph's family troubles sooner - and so joined a cult. I'm worried it also might be foreshadowing for a Jamestown-type ending, which would be super depressing, although pretty apt for a cult story. But I don't know if that's going to happen. At the moment I just don't trust the Sheriff. I'm probably meant to not trust him, and I'll fail to have faith in him later when I should, and then someone else will betray me. It's all part of Far Cry.

Coronation Street

I think the thing I find most implausible about the whole David storyline is that he would ever have any interest in boxing at all.

I'm really curious what your thoughts on the game will be once you finish it. XD
