Today I finished a fic I've been writing for some months. Wooo! 38,000 words. On what was originally going to be a sketchy backstory for a different fic. Still, I finished it. Now I just need to edit it, maybe change some things around, and then I can post it. Don't be excited - it's Saints Row fic. Mostly I want to get it finished before the new game with one of the characters comes out. But I have finished the first draft at least, and hurrah.

My internet connection keeps coming and going, and it's one of the most frustrating things in the world. It's happening on my Playstation as well, so I don't think it's just my laptop being weird. Maybe we can reset the router. Maybe it'll just clear up on it's own and we won't have to do anything.

Relations with my dad have deteriorated.

YAY FIC. That is very impressive, I think finishing a long fic is even more impressive than writing it, because it means it was actually going somewhere and has an end, rather than you were just writing lots of words getting nowhere which is how more fic seems to be than not.

I am sorry about your father, did you leave him to MAKE HIS OWN TEA while you went and GATHERED VALUABLE INFORMATION ABOUT THE DEPTHS OF RUSSIA? I hate it when I lose points for that. (Actually you did gleefully leave him to make his own tea for a while, that's not as ridiculous as I first thought. I hope it's nothing too serious though anyway.)

Yeah, I think it was easier because it was originally meant to be the backstory/starting point for a different fic. I knew where it was going to end because I knew where the next fic was supposed to begin. I don't think I'm going to finish the original fic, because that was a lot more convoluted than this one - but I really loved the backstory I thought up for it and all the headcanons for the characters, so I'm really glad I actually wrote it. Now just need to edit the damn thing. And - reformat it for AO3 and LJ. Sigh.

I DRESSED AS A WOMAN and he got really annoyed at me. Nah, it's not so bad. It's just irritating. My mum obviously came in and dusted my room while I was at yours - I don't really like her messing around in here while I'm gone, but I think it's the only time she feels like she's not disturbing me. When I got back I decided to clean up some stuff, like my overflowing recycling bins, and my dad made a snide comment about how I hadn't cleaned up the dust. I also deliberately didn't tell him about that camera I bought, because I knew he'd get involved and start trying to tell me what to do with it, but he saw the box in the damned recycling, and started harassing me about memory cards, was my camera working, did it have one, in that weird interrogation style of his. So now I am annoyed with him and he's ignoring it. It's just making things a little bit grating in our house.

Thank you! Unfortunately my editing process so far has been 'rewriting', but I'm still hoping to get it done in the next few weeks.

He's a twat. Which I already knew. It's just a shame, because things were a bit better between us before Christmas. I'm sure I'll get over it though.
