I'm sorry you're not enjoying what they're doing with the story. I often times have the same reaction when things go for that "dark and mature" vibe since it usually means they're going for condescending and depressing. It sucks. Hoping you'll end up liking the game in the end, but I can certainly see why you have some fears about it.
