British Comedy Awards

Blah. Green Wing did not win (sniff), but at least did not come last. My heart sank through my feet when it started off with 7%. And I did like School of Rock, but Shaun of the Dead was completely robbed, and no amount of rock montages can change that. Hmph. But Johnny Vegas was as crazy as ever, and Matt Groening was there, and Stephen Hawking! The funniest of all the non-comedian presenter/speech-maker types, I thought, despite whatever some of them were on (you know who you are. Bridgette). David Walliams did Anne! And Ricky Gervais was hilarious and cruel in his usual fashion - and yet still I feel no desire to see The Office. Hmm.

But enough about the awards. Onto the squee: Squeeeeeee! Spotted Stephen Mangan 3 times! And then the back of his head during a standing ovation (3rd back from the stage)! He's so loooovely. And one of the shots showed him sitting either next to or just in front of Julian Rhind-Tutt - drawn together by their characters` love! Or possibly just shagging. Either way, squeeeeeee!

Hm. Tree's finally trimmed, aside from chocolate's, which are probably best kept away from the dog's clutches for as long as possible. I 'helped', in that I stayed away. I sense tree-trimming will be an interesting affair when I'm living on my own. Also wrapped all my presents (all four of them), even the elephant (don't ask). Starting to wish I'd signed up for the 'yuletide' community - could get some fic - but ah well. Always next year, I guess.

Going to busy over the next few days I think. Lots of linguistics reading. Lots of post-Christmas shopping to plan. Am getting quite annoyed with DVDs, and how long it takes (some of them) to come out. 'Hero' and 'Oldboy' are the only ones I've even heard about up to this point, and that's in February. What of 'Dead Man's Shoes'? What of 'The Philadelphia Story'? What of them?! (We won't even TALK about the Green Wing DVDs, because I'll cry on the keyboard, and then electrocute myself). Sigh.
