So the airplanes are a danger again. Leading to the usual non-stop news channels and 'do you think torture is right?' conversations with my dad (in his defence, we later mocked the news with how everyone was plotting, in the Plotting Room of their little plot-filled houses. 'Masquerading' was another term we enjoyed). As usual I'm torn between general sadness at the state of the world, some fear, and a random suspicion that it's all a big conspiracy and we're just being played. Not that that would make things any easier at the airports, of course. If the situation becomes permanent, I mostly think it will be:

  • Bad for airline companies.

  • But good for the environment, perhaps.

  • Bad for airline passengers - have fun playing with your keys and spare change after check-in, folks.

  • SUPER bad for airport shops. Like woah.

But I suppose if it keeps people from getting blown up it's, y'know, a Plus. Mostly I'm glad I didn't book a trip to Cuba any time soon. Sympathy to those who are travelling soon ::sympathises::

* * *

We now return you to our regularly scheduled nonsense. I bought a Little Black Book of Chocolate today. Do most people's ovens go up to 400* C? It's slightly shaming that I'm most excited about the chocolate brownie recipes - but if you want Rich Devil's Food Cake, I'm apparently also your girl ::peruses::

And I'm not a huge fan of Will Ferrell, but Total Film has managed to get me really quite interested in Talladega Nights. Mostly because he stars as a redneck NASCAR champion who comes up against sudden competition from a suave, French, intellectual racer played by Sacha Baron Cohen. A suave, French, intellectual racer who's apparently canonically gay. Sometimes I think the films, they tease me.

Still no Logan/Aaron fic. Woe.

400...oh MY there's no degrees symbol...C? No. That's a fib. You'll have to do them for 200@/*/^/degrees/~ C but for twice as long. That's probably how cooking wrks. Actually I think it might be a typo. I can't think what would benefit from being cooked at 400...etc.

It is no lie. Chocolate Sheet Cake - 'Preheat oven to 400 (slight oversight on the keyboard makers' part) C'. For a long time I have been reading takeaway pizza boxes that tell me to reheat the pizza, simply preheat oven to 350* C... Thinking 'I'll just BUY A VOLCANO, shall I??'. Dude. I want to own one of these superovens. So I can cook my chocolate properly, and not approximate like the poor. Now I have a book and all.

Yay, shiny:) I am scared of the libraries that will not let me take books out when I have to rush away to catch my plane. I will never catch planes again. Maybe they will have books on the planes, in the back of every seat, so there can be a sort of bartering when everyone sits down and you find you've been seated in non fiction instead of sci fi and everyone can do swaps and hopefully nobody will get stuck with Dickens. Hm. Probably there are worse things to be stuck with, I don't know. Libraries and brothels and icecream parlours and YAY:)

This is my main feeling about the Airports of Glory I am half-constructing in my mind. Who would ever want to fly away from them? EXCEPT ON THE LIBRARY PLANES OF WHICH YOU SPEAK. WHICH ARE PURE WIN. So much better than having snakes on them, dude.

Libraries and ice-cream parlours and ROLLERSKATING. Hell, I'd just go on holiday there.
