I only ever knew this song as the one Cilla Black sang that apparently launched her career, but it turns out it's incredibly sad and beautiful:

Every day I get up with the intention of cleaning my room. Which currently means going through the old pile of bank statements and receipts I want to check off against each other. I got rid of some of the more annoying jobs, partly by discovering my local recycling will take more things than I thought they will, and now I'm at a job which isn't just mind-numbingly repetitive and if I do it wrong, it will only affect me in ways I'll probably notice. But it's still a dull job, and a job, so I don't hop to it every day. And then I wake up pretty well into the day, play Animal Crossing , check the internet to see what's new, take a walk, and then often find myself at the beginning of the Rooster Teeth stream for the day, which last into the night. And then I do it for maybe half an hour before bed, and make some progress, but not much. It's very annoying. But also fascinating, as a job. I'm currently going through all my receipts for January, and remembering everything I did and was thinking before the current global situation really happened. You really never know what's coming next.

It's been a week and a half since the last email from my company, and a working week since the government's announcement/suggestion, and I haven't heard anything further from my workplace. The fact the furlough scheme has been extended has pretty much convinced me I won't be called back as a receptionist - I would literally just be there as an infection risk, and the only reason I could think they'd do that is just because they would resent paying me to stay home. But there's still a niggling thought that they might call me in to fill in for someone else's job, if they can't or won't come back to work and do it. But so far nothing, which is probably a sign I won't be called back soon - I assume they're figuring things out with the clients, and the people who really do need to go back, ie cleaners. Still, it's funny to hear nothing, but I'm getting paid as far as I know - got paid today in fact - so I've got nothing to complain about. It would just be nice to know what's happening. But I guess everyone's pretty uncertain at the moment.

There's been video game news, which is nice. Crusader Kings 3 has a release date, and they've shown us more about what Ghost of Tsushima looks like (a lot like many other games, really, but with enough individual touches to suggest they might weave it into something more unique, that stands out on it's own). It's nice to hear about some good things happening, anyway, and to get some solid dates. I have no idea if my local games shop will be open again by the time those come out, but I hope.

How's everyone else doing?

That is an incredibly beautiful song. ♥

Hmm, I need to go through some of my old receipts and bank statements too at some point soon just to make sure everything is in order. I'm glad that, despite it being annoying, there's a bit of fascination with the job too. You really never do know what happens next.

I agree: it would be nice to know what's happening currently and I am wishing you all the best with your work situation! Right now, I am still unsure as to my own situation too so I know how frustrating and ultimately nerve-wracking that can be.

Yay for video game news too! I agree: it's definitely nice to hear about some good things happening and to get some solid dates. Here's to hoping your local games shop will be open again by the time those come out too! *crosses fingers*

We are doing as well as can be expected, given everything. I am still waiting to hear about when I will be expected to go back to work currently, and Breyzy is busy working as a teacher online now. :)
