On Thursday, my mum rang me and asked me how I fancied her coming down to Nottingham this weekend to see me, and staying over. I had to say "....um, not much?". Because my flat is a mess, and I did mention that I wanted to watch Casualty. So she's supposed to be coming down next weekend. She's been talking about coming down to Nottingham for about 6 months, by my count. And when she talked about hypothetically coming, she always talked about maybe staying in a hotel, and shouting me a bed maybe. For some reason she's changed her mind, even though she has a bad back and knows the only sleeping options are my bed up the ladder, the (short) couch, and a blow-up mattress on the floor, which last time someone stayed didn't even get blown up. I have a pump for it now, but still. I don't know why she wants to stay here, I can't really fathom it since there are hotels. But she does, so now I really need to clean it.

The bad part is, I have a 9 to 5 job that doesn't allow for time off and I'll probably be asked to do overtime for, two evening courses, I might end up going out on Friday for the regular after-work drinks thing, and I haven't done the washing yet - which I'll need by the weekend - or paid my rent or council tax, or sorted out my jobseeker's claim. I also need to watch a film I borrowed from one of my film course tutors as it's our last class soon.

The other part though, is that I'm pretty sure the wiring for the main light in the flat is faulty and the toilet seat's broken, so I need to call my landlord's and get some repair people in anyway, so it's probably best that I clean the place.

I still don't know why she wants to stay here. I might try to discuss hotels with her again.
